  • After-Sales & Complaints

    Reorders, damages, and missing parts

    • My glass panels are sliding. What should I do?

      Before you install your railing, it’s important that you:

      1. Clean the rubber of the clamps and the glass surface with acetone. If some time has passed since installation and you’ve cleaned as above, you may
      2. Tighten the screws in the clamps. If the glass panels still slide, then
      3. Check that the mounting screws are securely and fully fastened into the substrate.

      If everything seems to be in order and you’ve followed all the steps above (1-3), but the glass panels still slide, please contact our customer service.

    • I'm missing parts/got the wrong parts or missing parts and assembly instructions. What should I do?

      At Balustradedesign, you’ll receive a unique assembly instruction tailored to your railing, so please provide your order number and item number for the parts you’re missing or are incorrect and contact our customer service.

    • The product doesn’t fit – what should I do?

      Contact our customer service and provide all the details as well as explain the problems with the product.

    • The packaging was intact, but the contents are damaged. What should I do?

      Take photos of the damages, fill in the products number, and contact our customer service.

    • A parcel is missing – what now?

      Email: info@balustradedesign.co.uk with your order number and describe what’s missing.

      Note it on the delivery note, take photos before opening, and report any issues via our complaint form.

    • I want to reorder or expand my system – how do I do that?

      Use our reorder form and include your previous order number. For more complex changes, email us directly with your requirements.

      Start by entering your measurements, then choose your preferred materials, glass type, colour and design details. You’ll see a live 3D rendering of your balustrade.

    • How do I install my balustrade?

      You’ll receive detailed installation manuals and step-by-step videos. The manual also serves as a packing list and placement guide based on your measurements.

    • What’s included in the installation kit?

      All necessary tools and accessories are included: screws, bits, drills and instructions tailored to your exact product.

    Important rules and recommendations for balustrade installation

    • How do I know my balustrade is safe?

      We carry out impact and tensile tests on our products and display the relevant safety class in your 3D design and quote. You can also read more about safety testing and certification here >>

    • Do I need planning permission for a balustrade in the UK?

      In most residential cases under 1 metre in height, no planning permission is required. However, for balconies, roof terraces or listed buildings, we recommend checking with your local planning authority.

    • Are your products CE marked?

      Yes – our steel and aluminium balustrades are CE marked according to EN 1090-1, showing they meet EU requirements for structural safety.

    • What does the safety classification mean?
      • Class A – for residential, office and commercial environments.
      • Class B – for level differences under 1 metre.
      • Class C – for ground-level use or modified custom designs.

    • Do your products meet UK safety standards?

      Yes – we comply with UK Building Regulations, including BS 6180, and classify products into safety classes A, B or C based on usage, height, and structural performance.

    • Where are your products manufactured?

      Every balustrade is made to order in our Swedish production facility, ensuring full control over quality, safety, and customisation.

    • What color can my railing have?

      You can design your aluminum railing in any color you want when ordering our product Alu Color, Alu Modern and Alu Retro. In the wide color spectrum of the RAL system, you choose the color of one or several parts of the railing.

    • How do I maintain aluminium parts?

      Clean with a soft cloth, lukewarm water and mild detergent. Avoid acidic or abrasive cleaners. For tougher stains, acetone can be used carefully.

    • Which balustrade is lowest maintenance?

      Glass and aluminium require very little maintenance. Our frameless glass balustrade is virtually maintenance-free – just clean it periodically with water and mild detergent.

    • What’s the best balustrade material for outdoors?

      We recommend stainless steel (316L) or powder-coated aluminium for outdoor use, especially in coastal or exposed environments. For indoor use, AISI 304 steel or aluminium is ideal.

    • Can I get evenly sized glass sections?

      Yes – we cut each panel to match your measurements, so you’ll always get a symmetrical and balanced look.

    • What types of balustrades do you offer?

      We offer glass balustrades, aluminium railings, stainless steel systems, frameless solutions, and Juliet balconies, all fully customisable.

    • What is your background?

      Balustradedesign is part of Räckesbutiken, founded in 2008 as an extension of Villans Glas. In 2010, it became an independent company, and since 2022 it’s fully owned by Beijerinvest. The company operates 13 webshops across Europe and launched in the UK in 2024.

      We deliver to the UK, EU, Norway and Switzerland, with free shipping to all destinations.

    • Where are you based?

      Balustradedesign is a European railing manufacturer based in Ängelholm, Sweden. We design and produce custom-made balustrade systems for both residential and commercial use. All our bespoke glass and aluminium railings are crafted in-house and shipped directly from our production facility.
