Alu Modern Glass Balustrade at Taverna Båstad

At this restaurant project in Båstad, Balustradedesign supplied a custom version of our Alu Modern glass balustrade – powder-coated in black with extra-high glass panels.

Project information:

• Alu Modern aluminium balustrade, powder-coated in black
• Custom-made glass height: 1400 mm (standard is 1100 mm)
• 8.76 mm toughened safety glass

This project required specially manufactured glass panels to meet a higher safety and design specification. The result is a modern and elegant installation that enhances both form and function.

Alu Modern – Minimalism with a View

Alu Modern is a clean-lined aluminium and glass balustrade designed to maximise visibility while meeting all safety standards. Its slimline posts and expansive glass areas make it ideal for projects where transparency and modern aesthetics are key.

A Balustrade with Options

Alu Modern offers a wide range of design choices – making it easy to tailor the system to your needs:

• Post colours: Available in natural aluminium, white, black, textured grey, and seven additional grey shades
• Glass height: Choose between 800 mm and 1100 mm standard heights (custom heights available on request)
• Glass clips: Choose with or without visible glass capping
• Customisation: All options are available in our online design tool

Built for Safety

Every Alu Modern system includes 8.76 mm laminated safety glass with polished and ground edges. The laminated structure consists of two bonded panes with a PVB interlayer – keeping the panel intact even if one pane breaks.

Available glass finishes:

• Clear
• Opal (frosted)
• Grey-tinted

For areas exposed to repeated external impact, you can upgrade to toughened laminated glass for extra durability.

Low Maintenance
