A patio awning can last for many years if used and maintained properly. Its lifespan is primarily affected by how exposed it is, how often it is used, and how the fabric, frame, and fixings are maintained. A well-maintained frame often lasts longer than the original fabric. Proper care extends its lifespan.
Brush away dirt, pollen, and leaves from the awning as needed; let a damp awning dry before leaving the awning retracted; and check the arms and fixings from time to time. Retract the awning when it is not in use during the winter. If the awning becomes worn or faded after a few years, it can usually be replaced separately, and you can also choose a new colour.
